When someone performs well in any company, they are usually a candidate to move into a leadership role. The assumption is, if someone does well at a job, they can do well overseeing others to do it, too.
While this line of thinking makes logical sense, oftentimes people are promoted to manage others without training on how to delegate tasks, communicate effectively, verify work completion and many other important duties of someone in a supervisory role. In this instance, the company is setting the person up to fail.
Management and leadership are skills which can be learned, and people who are good in the field often do make good managers, as long as they have the resources in place to succeed.
As a business coach, I have had the opportunity to work with companies in all industries, from small local businesses to large corporations. I am based in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and serve the surrounding areas as well, including Butler.

Clear communication is key for a manager, because they need to set their employees on the right tasks and provide detailed instructions so the job is done correctly. In addition, if a manager can help an employee understand how their job impacts the company as a whole, and their co-workers, they are more likely to buy in to their role and not only work more effectively, but have better morale as well.
