You’ve probably heard of WordPress at least once or twice and know there are two main distinctions. WordPress.com or WordPress.org? If you’re a college student looking to blog about your dinner, I recommend going with WordPress.com. If you’re a professional running a real business, then I would say a self-hosted WordPress site, or WordPress.org, is for you.
Here are some reasons you may want to look into WordPress for rebuilding your company’s professional website:

Believe it or not, WordPress software is 100% free, and running a WordPress website is relatively inexpensive. Some hosting sites advertise WordPress hosting for pennies a day, though others can be upwards of $15-30 monthly. My recommendation: buy the more expensive hosting from companies like Flywheel or WP Engine. These companies focus on WordPress and only WordPress making your site safer, lighter, and faster.
Creating Content is Easy with WordPress
Have you ever used Microsoft Word? Easy, right? WordPress is just as easy. It’s super simple. All you have to do is click, “new post” and begin writing. I told you it was easy!
WordPress is Easily Customizable
I’m not one to give away trade secrets here, but there are web designers who make tens of thousands of dollars each month creating websites with a $59 theme they found online. And guess what, the websites look good and each one looks different enough to fool the common user to think it is a 100% custom website. (If you hire someone, maybe make sure they aren’t doing this and ripping you off…)

Something you don’t get when you build a website with Wix or SquareSpace is ownership. With WordPress(.org) you own your website, its code, and its content. You are 100% in control of EVERYTHING!

WordPress is one of the easiest platforms I’ve ever used for building websites and trust me, I’ve been around the block. It’s great for building a site on your own or hiring a professional (which I highly recommend).
