After window tinting Tampa for the last decade, we are often asked questions about window film. We are always happy to educate consumers about the many benefits of having window film applied to glass.
Almost always, the most popular question is: Does Window Film Really Reduce Heat?
Complicated question with a simple answer....
YES!
Let's apply some common sense here and let our eyes SEE why your home or business will be cooler and safer with window film. That old saying "seeing is believing" sure holds true in more ways than one when it comes to window film.
Check out the "before and after" pictures below and then afterward I'll get into the more technical details!

You can easily SEE less hot sun streaming
through the windows to the left and right.
Thats' because we just installed our solar
reducing film on them. Notice the middle
window just begging for film!

This office building was getting blasted
with sun. The filmed windows on the
left side of the office had already started
to make a difference. Happy employees
and happy building owner!
Not all glass is created equal, so the properties of films vary to meet specific needs. But basically, window tint is designed to block the different rays that the sun produces. Known as thermal rays, solar rays, and infrared rays, they are certainly welcome at the beach or poolside. But inside your home or workplace, these rays cause uncomfortable heat to build up. When the temperature inside increases, so does the run-time on your a/c, which will cause your electric bills to increase as well. Our solar rejection window film resolves these issues with technology that outsmarts the sun:
- solar film rejects the thermal rays that cause heat from the sun
- solar film works as a filter to block the wavelengths (radiation) that create heat but allows certain wavelengths for natural light to pass through
- solar film controls heat transfer of infrared waves known to actually "heat up" when they strike people. The window film blocks this transfer of energy and reflects it back to its source.
So what does this all mean?
It means that with solar reduction window film on your glass, you will FEEL cooler, your home or business will be more energy efficient, and your energy costs will be lower!
Are there any other benefits?
Glad you asked! Our window films give you fade control to prolong the beauty of your interiors. They block 99.9% of the ultraviolet rays to protect your skin from sun damage and they stop glare that interferes with watching computer monitors and HD screens. Your views to the outside are crystal clear with glass breakage protection as well. AND our solar films qualify for TECO and Duke Electric rebates! In other words, you are rewarded for adding window film to make your home and business more energy efficient!
