STOTT Pilates®Step 7 – Transformation Requires 100% Commitment

To transform your body requires total commitment to the steps I’ve outlined in this program. You’ve likely been holding your body in a specific posture for a long time and changing it will also take some time.  It won’t take that long to change it, but it does take commitment to these steps. It’s the same thing with your core since the two are linked. When you commit to the STOTT PILATES principles as daily practice, that’s when you’ll begin to notice changes.

Why do some people succeed, while others spin their wheels?

Consistency in action is the recipe for success, and many people are inconsistent in their exercise regime. The best way to ensure success is to have a goal, and then follow a proven model or “system” that’s been proven to produce results. The 7 Steps to Perfect Posture and a Healthy Core through Pilates program is a proven system that has helped thousands of people.

Assessing your progress and updating your program produces results

When people don’t track their progress, they lose sight of their goals quickly. Failing to regularly assess your progress leads to plateaus, frustration, and backsliding. When you track and assess your improvements, you ensure your continued progress and accelerated success! You should also have an expert review your progress and program to identify “course corrections” you might need to succeed!

Movement Patterns: Why less is more

In the past, you may have had a personal coach at the gym who told you more is better when it comes to working out. But that’s not what I teach. I wish I could tell you that if you did more repetitions, or worked faster, or harder that you would improve more quickly, but truthfully, you can’t rush it. Less is more! This is something that my clients hear from me all the time.

When you overwork your muscles, your body will “default” to its overuse patterns of movement. This is exactly what we’re trying to change! Don’t be tempted to do hundreds of repetitions. These exercises are designed to be performed in small segments of time. The changes you desire will come with persistent and consistent practice.

How quickly can you achieve results?

Probably the most common question that I get from clients is how fast they will see results. While the answer is always different for every person, it is very much based on their commitment. The best way to guarantee success is to follow the model we’ve reviewed here and invest in a Pilates coaching program. Clients who do this begin to see a difference in about 90 days and in six to nine months they are experiencing great posture and a healthy core.
