Hey there. I’m Shannon Willits and I’m a master trainer for club Pilates. I’m also a TRX instructor. I certified for TRX in 2008, and recently, uh, went through the Pilates suspension method certification with, uh, Nancy Dangler here. Who’s an instructor trainer for Pilates suspension methods. And I’m Nancy and I’m happy to be here.
And, uh, as Shannon said, an instructor trainer with the Pilates suspension method, I’m a teacher here at club Pilates has been doing Pilates for. A long time, 25 plus years, um, as a classical trained dancer and as an instructor. So I really love being here. I love the dynamics of doing Pilates on the suspension straps and how it incorporates all of our Pilates principles in a dynamic way to strengthen and LinkedIn and support.
So Pilates and the suspension trainer, they have a lot in common. The fundamentals of Pilates really are present in the work on the straps. So for me, it was a natural thing to look at. Suspension trainer. I work with a lot of golfers and racket, um, pickleball and tennis. So just working with them on the straps really stimulated their core so they could perform better in their sport.
But it’s really not limited to athletes. I can assure you, I get Housewives and you know, people of all ages on the straps, all levels on the straps. Cause it’s really approachable. That’s why.
it’s a great opportunity to add the suspension training to your regular Pilates practice and journey. As the suspension apparatus will solidify your shoulder stability, your shoulder strength, and will really engage the core dynamic. And it’s the natural progression of the Pilates vocabulary from the horizontal through the vertical plane, and then incorporating the instability of the straps along with gravity, really encourages the mover to find a highly organized way of moving, really finding that shoulder strength and stability.
And being able to manage their own body in gravity, which is the next level. So you have a more stable, more organized system for a more controlled fluid and core activated movement.
What’s wonderful about the suspension apparatus and doing your Pilates work on the suspension trainer is that it really amplifies and takes that mover from beginner intermediate into that next level advanced mover, where you’re drawing upon the three C’s of Concentration, center and control, and it amplifies your ability to incorporate that and create that fluid movement, especially when you dynamically engage through the core to support all other movements through the body and the limbs for whatever task you’re doing, whether it be golf or.
Gymnastics or swimming. So it really helps amplify and draw in those three C’s and take your practice to the next level.
