Signage Needs for Warehouses and Distribution Centers
Our team has taken on numerous projects for incoming and expanding companies in need of warehouse space. Examples include

Vestcom Identifies Three Signage Products for Its Primary Needs
We discussed the signage needs with the client, who determined that there were three signage solutions that presented the most pressing needs. For starters, there was the need for new monument sign faces. With the structure already in place, we designed, produced, and installed the facings that identify Vestcom as well as Avery Dennison.
The next signage focused on vinyl lettering and logos identifying locations only accessible to associates. Our technicians fabricated vinyl door lettering for a wood door and a glass surface. Both products are printed in full colors, depicting the names and logos of the companies. These signs now expertly guide visitors and employees at the new facility.
Identifying Needed Signs and Graphics for Warehouses and Distribution Centers
Having the right signs for a warehouse or similar facility is crucial for ensuring workplace safety, efficiency, and productivity. This signage helps employees, visitors, and drivers navigate the facility, understand safety protocols, and locate essential areas.
Our team has compiled some key considerations and guidelines for identifying needed warehouse signs.
- Safety. Keeping workers and visitors safe is a top priority in any warehouse setting. Look for areas prone to hazards, such as forklift traffic, high-voltage equipment, slippery floors, and restricted zones. We recommend placing highly visible signs indicating these hazards to alert employees and visitors. Use universally recognized symbols and colors to convey messages effectively, regardless of language barriers.
- Traffic. Warehouse traffic gets confusing, especially in busy distribution centers. Have traffic signs to regulate the flow of vehicles and pedestrians. Designate lanes for different types of traffic, including forklifts, trucks, and pedestrians. Use signs to indicate speed limits, stops, yield notices, and directions to loading docks and parking areas. Aluminum composite is always a good option.
- Directions. Large spaces can be confusing to navigate, especially for newcomers. Install directional signs at key junctions and intersections to guide employees and visitors to specific locations such as shipping and receiving areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and emergency exits. We recommend the use of arrows and text to provide concise instructions.
