St. Francis High School in Wheaton, IL, recently put some of their art students on the job of designing new entrance windows for their on-site supply store, “The Den.” The students came up with an impressive design and their teacher forwarded their artwork on to us here at The Sign Authority.
Our design department translated their artwork into a vector image, which allows our state-of-the-art plotters to cut it from vinyl, which would then be applied to the glass entrance doors of the store. Originally, the design was to be cut from a solid window vinyl, but was later changed to etched vinyl, which delivers a very contemporary and polished look, mimicking the appearance of etched glass (but for a fraction of the cost). It allows visitors to see into the store, while still offering the separation of an opaque window cling. It also lets through light, making the store feel open and cheerful.
