A regular order we, at The Sign Authority, get is for exterior building signs. Despite having so many of these types of orders, we treat each one as a unique situation so it fits best with the customer.
A recent outdoor building sign we produced was for Prairie Path Outfitters in Wheaton. They needed two identical signs, one for their rear entrance and one front. We set to work on a design, and after some contact with the customer, we were able to finalize the design. The finalized design did raise an interesting issue, however. The print was to be mounted on an unusually shaped sign, making leveling a bit more difficult. Luckily, our installation experts were able to make short work of that and the sign was mounted perfectly.
Right next door to Prairie Path Outfitters is Wheaton Chiropractic. They were also in need of a rear entrance sign for their building. Fortunately, this sign was a perfect rectangle, so the issue with the other sign were not a problem.
We decide both of the signs would be mounted onto a 3mm MaxMetal substrate. This lightweight and durable material resists scratching and denting, making it a perfect choice for exterior signs. The prints were treated with Oraguard gloss laminate, offering a high level of UV protection as well as protection from moisture and abrasion. Due to the brick that the signs were hung on, we needed to use special screws. We decided that Tapcon Screws, being specially rated for concrete and the weight of these signs, was the best option. The sturdy hold and laminate ensure these signs stay as striking as ever.
