Printed Vinyl for Textured Walls in Beachwood and Solon An incredibly neat look is the textured vinyl application. In preparation for Diamond Visual Communications’ recent Grand Opening, temporary signage was needed. With the threat of snow and strong winds, a banner would not suffice. Instead Diamond Visual Communications printed on 3M 8624 cast vinyl used for textured surfaces. The media is 3 mil thick which enabled us to stretch and form the vinyl. [caption id="attachment_1243" align="alignleft" width="528"] 3M vinyl for textured surfaces used to promote Diamond Visual Communications Grand Opening.[/caption] Two signs were printed. The first acknowledged Diamond Visual Communications location. The other sign noted the grand opening. Each sign was 4 feet wide by 3 feet high. We made use of the exterior walls as a great location to place signs acknowledging our new location and grand opening. These signs gave the appearance of being painted directly on to the exterior. Diamond Visual Communications used our Hewlett Packard 360 latex printer to produce these two signs. The 360 allows us to laminate immediately if needed. Since we needed just temporary signs, lasting less than 30 days, Diamond Visual Communications opted not to laminate. Plus the HP 360 being latex allows Diamond Visual Communications to use the printed media immediately, no need for out gassing. [caption id="attachment_1244" align="alignleft" width="274"] 3M Textured Surface Vinyl Used on white painted cinder block to convey information[/caption] The 3M vinyl is specifically manufactured for textured surfaces. The front exterior wall of Diamond Visual Communications building is highly textured sandstone brick. Due to age and its nature, this brick had much more dimensions than regular brick. By using a heat gun and wire brush we easily got the vinyl to conform to the brick. The vinyl becomes a thin mold on the brick’s surface. Besides exterior surfaces, the textured vinyl is great for using inside to convey information. Once again, this material provides the look of being painted directly to the cinder blocks. Diamond Visual Communications is able to utilize the wall and instead of painting provide simple signage that conveys critical information.
