Warrensville Heights, OH – Polystyrene a sturdy media for Placards, Posters and other uses.
Most of Diamond Visual Communications customers have never hear of polystyrene. It is an excellent material used for a variety of purposes. Diamond Visual Communications can directly print to polystyrene or apply vinyl to it. Three thicknesses are utilized for polystyrene - .020, .030 and .040. The larger the number, the thicker the material. It is a great alternative to poster board. Polystyrene can be quite rigid when it has laminated printed vinyl applied, especially to both sides.

Recently Diamond Visual Communications was called upon to make table placards. In the past our customer utilized poster board with basic inkjet print and laminate applied to both sides. Diamond Visual Communications suggested .020 polystyrene with printed vinyl applied to both sides. With a laminate applied, these placards will last for years and can be easily cleaned. This is a good example of laminated vinyl being used in an environment where the material can come in contact with liquids.

The combination of laminated printed vinyl and polystyrene make a long lasting table placard.[/caption]
Diamond Visual Communications setup the design so that we would have prints of side 1 followed by the prints of side two. We nested the placard designs to make use of the appropriate amount of vinyl and laminate. The fist sides were applied to polystyrene. The placards were cut, then the second sides were cut and applied. With Diamond Visual Communications’ Hewlett Packard Latex 360 printer we printed then laminated the placards within minutes. Our laminator also enabled us to perfectly apply the laminated vinyl to the polystyrene. Diamond Visual Communications was able to assist our customer with a need that had to be fulfilled. Although this is a small project, it is part of Diamond Visual Communications commitment to help our clients with the best means to market, brand and convey information.
With another customer, Diamond Visual Communications was asked to create posters for outdoor used within poster frames. By using a flatbed printer with ultraviolet (UV) curing, Diamond Communications printed directly to polystyrene. The color is crisp and will last outdoors for a good deal of time. Diamond Visual Communications can create posters that are 24 inches by 24 inches up to 4 feet by 8 feet. Thinner polystyrene can be rolled after print allowing for easy transportation. Polystyrene is an excellent alternative to paper as it is more durable. In comparison to a rigid material, polystyrene can provide great print output, durability and easily transport.
If you need outdoor posters during this holiday season or anytime, Diamond Visual Communications has the option for you. We offer free consultations and estimates. We can be reached via email or phone,
