Project: Truck Decals and Graphics for Commercial Vehicle Location: Cleveland, Oh Client: Autumn Air We received a call from Autumn Air Heating and Air Conditioning recently because they picked up a new Dodge Promaster for their business. He wanted to have simple graphics displayed to let all the people he drives by on a daily basis know who he is and what services he provides. He did not feel a full wrap was neccessary and because he is not a flashy type of person, he wanted us to design something that would display the essential information for quick view by potential customers.   [gallery ids="452,451,450"] In the picture above starting to the left, we picked up their art work and re-created theor logo so it could be used as a large graphic on the back of the truck. Once the tree was completed, it took no time at all to create the font for the company name, phone number and slogan. We could have easily designed a larger decal or a van wrap, but we understood that he did not want to have it too large, rather, keep it simple and readble for people that drive by quickly. He also had us create the truck number for the new vehicle to stay in compliance with the State of Ohio. In the last photo to the right, he wanted to stress the heating and air conditioning service in black so that it would be more noticable, once again keeping with the theme of simple. Autumn Air has been in business for several years and has a wealth of experience in solving any type of air maintenance problem you can throw at him. He is clean, organized, punctual and really cares about his customers. It is not often you find an outfit that will actually call you back, he will do that, and even provide a detailed quote and an honest recommedation for solving your problem. This particular truck graphic project was accomplished a couple different ways in one job. The lettering and numbers were done using cut vinyl in green and black. Plotting vinyl comes in widths of 15, 24, 36, and 48 inches, depending on the color and if it is a specialty item. Once we new what the color scheme was and the code, we were able to match up the approopriate vinyl color for matching. There are a few ways to communicate color in the sign industry. One way is through the Pantone system. There is a color chip set available for visual communication, so an artist may say to use 834C, we could use our chip set to find that color and we then understand the color target. Another popular version is the Sherwin Williams color book available at their paint stores. We can then understand requirements when we are given that code and sometimes we can reference to standard vinyl colors. Some times vinyls do not match, forcing us to print the required color match. For the tree graphic, our artist re-created the image and we printed it on white vinyl and then contour cut around all the little elements to get the tree shape. Truck decals and truck lettering is a very effective way to advertise your business on vehicles. I agree in many situations that keeping it simple is often times the best approach. For one, it is easy on the budget. Second, it is easier to identify and read on the road. Finally, work vehicles need to get into our place and out... fast. So it makes the job very efficient, particularly when a fleet is involved.
