Let me first congratulate you on this momentous occasion – your new bundle of joy! The arrival of a newborn baby is an undeniably magical experience that brings out unparalleled emotions.
While it will undoubtedly bring sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and too many feedings to count, never forget just how special (
and fleeting) these moments are with your little one. You might think you'll remember every detail now, but life has its own way of quickly filling up our days and memories fading away over time. Don't make the same mistake I did - capture this precious early stage before they grow too big too soon!

When to Book Your Session (as early as possible)
When scheduling your newborn session, the earlier you book, the better! As a professional family photographer in Oakland, CA, I get busy quite quickly, and dates fill up quickly. But don't worry if you need to book at the last minute - I always keep a few open slots for my newborn photography clients (I understand this time is unpredictable).
I recommend booking your session when you are around 6-8 months pregnant, or even sooner. I will reserve a slot for your baby's arrival in my calendar 2 weeks after your due date. Once the little one has arrived, we will finalize a date. I recommend booking newborn sessions before 12 weeks of age.
What to Expect During the Session
When you book a newborn session with me, I will aim to make the experience as relaxed and stress-free as possible. My style of photography is candid and natural, meaning I don't use props or complicated poses. Instead, I prefer to capture the sweet little details naturally occurring between your baby and family members in their own environment.
Sessions are baby-led, meaning that we will work around the little one’s needs. I expect that baby will likely need to be a feeding and diaper change during the session, so don’t stress at all!
After the Session - Viewing and Ordering Photos
Once the session is complete, I will carefully choose the very best images to edit and upload them to an online viewing gallery within two weeks. I will email you a link to your gallery with instructions on navigating it.
From there, you can choose your favorite photos (depending on which package you chose) you would like to receive as artistically edited digital images. You will also receive a complimentary print credit for ordering prints of your favorite family images!
