The days of stuffy photography sessions are over!

Do you remember having family photos when you were a kid? I sure do! We had to get dressed up in our Sunday best for the drive to the studio. Once there, the photographer crowded us all together, put our hands in unnatural positions, and yelled, "Say cheese!". Boy, those were the days! But seriously, who really looks at those images and has fond family memories. That's why I love lifestyle sessions. Why not capture your family the way they really are? Isn't that what you want to remember anyway?

Making craft cocktails

I recently had a fun-filled session with David. I've said it before and I'll say it again – I truly have the best clients ever! Full disclosure, he's my better half!    I arrived for our session right on time. It wasn't hard since we were sheltering in place and I wasn't leaving home, but that's beside the point. We gathered in the kitchen and let the fun begin.  I love doing sessions at home because that's where people are the most comfortable. For our session, I  really wanted to capture David doing something he loved. And he loves making craft cocktails. In 20 years when our kids look back at photos of their dad, they aren't going to say, "Remember when he sat still and smiled for photos?", but they might say, "Remember all the crazy cocktails dad used to come up with?".   So the next time you start thinking about family photos, think about what truly represents your family and what memories you want to pass on to your kids and grandkids.
