How and when to resume sessions during the pandemic
Covid-19……I know that none of us saw this coming and for me personally if you had told me the world would shut down due to a virus, I wouldn’t have believed it. But believe it or not, here we are. Covid-19 has changed our lives, the way we do business, and the way we interact with one another. And I think these changes are going to last a long time, maybe forever.
As the number of cases declines, we are slowly being allowed to resume activities. In our county, photographers have not been given the go-ahead to resume sessions, but I expect this to change soon.
Safety is my number one concern when sessions resume, both the safety of my clients and my safety. Here are the new guidelines that I have put in to place to keep you safe.
Resuming Outdoor Sessions
- Reschedule if anyone in your family is experiencing symptoms or feeling unwell
- Immediate family only
- Practice social distancing during the session
- Face masks and hand sanitizer
- Props, such as blankets, will be washed and sanitized before and after every session
- Equipment will be sanitized before and after every session
Resuming Indoor Sessions
- Reschedule if anyone in your family is experiencing symptoms or feeling unwell
- Only family members living in the same household will be allowed at a session
- Social distancing is difficult to observe in the confines of your home. Families will need to determine their comfort level for sessions. I will do my best to keep a distance during the session
- Shoes will be removed at the door
- As soon as I enter your home, I will wash my hands, and I will use hand sanitizer throughout the session
- I will wear a mask during the entire session and will wear gloves when handling your newborn
- Props, such as blankets, will be washed and sanitized before and after every session
- Equipment will be sanitized before and after every session
Fresh 48 Sessions
I will not be able to resume Fresh 48 sessions at this time as hospitals are limiting visitors. Once I am given the go-ahead, the policies for indoor sessions will apply to Fresh 48 sessions.
Communication is the key. This is an important time to capture family memories and we can move forward together.
