Oakland, CA – It’s About Time You Replaced Your Photographer With a New One

SYNOPSIS:

BY: Leigh Ann Pincus, LEIGH ANN PINCUS PHOTOGRAPHY

Are you unsatisfied with your photographer? Maybe it’s time you replaced them with a new one.

A good photographer captures all the special moments in the most perfect way. They care about how you pose, stand, or look in the pictures and guide you every step of the way. Unless you are a professional photographer, you can’t figure out whether or not you have hired the right person for the job. That is why we have put together a list of signs that you have hired the wrong photographer, and you need to replace them with a new one.

Let’s begin.

Overexposure

One of the biggest mistakes a photographer can make that can ruin your photographs is overexposure. Make sure to replace your photographer with a better one if in the pictures:

  • Your skin tone appears too bright in pictures. For a lighter skin tone, some luminescence is needed, but when the exposure becomes too much, the skin tone appears as if it is washed out, thus making the pictures appear dull.
  • The white-colored clothes appear so bright that you fail to spot the detailing in them. This issue is quite common, especially when the photographer is shooting a bride wearing a bright-colored dress. The beautiful lace and beading in the brides dressed often disappear, due to overexposure.
  • The sky loses its definition and gets washed out thoroughly.

Blurry Images

One of the many innovative techniques in modern photography is “bokeh.” Following this technique, the photographer intentionally blurs the background or the foreground, thus making the subjects appear more visible. If done right, this technique can make your photos beautiful. Unfortunately, most amateur photographers don’t master their aperture settings and mess the whole thing up. As a result, some of the subjects also get blurred, which ruins an otherwise beautiful photograph. If your photographer does the same, it shows that he is an amateur who should be replaced with a professional.

Weird Posing

At one point or another, we all have come across pictures in which the posing seems awkward. In most cases, it is the photographer’s fault. There are so many photographers out there who have no idea about camera placement or body positioning that could make a difference. Before you hire a photographer, make sure to go through their portfolio. If you notice posture issues in their photos, it is better to let them go and seek help elsewhere.

Off Focus Pictures

While going through the photographer’s portfolio, if you notice pictures that are off focus, make sure not to ignore them. Sometimes, the background or the foreground overwhelms the subjects, and that is a big red flag.

Lack of Interest

Your photographer should be passionate about what he does. If your photographer seems least excited about taking your pictures, his lack of interest will be evident through the pictures he clicks.

Hiring a photographer for a memorable event, such as your wedding, is a significant investment. Make sure not to hire the wrong photographer.
