Recently, I was contacted by Neha O. of Walnut Creek. She and her husband had welcomed a new baby boy and wanted an outdoor newborn session. You can see a few of the images from their session in this article.
Many newborn photography session are done at the client's home, however sometimes families choose an outdoor location. Here are a few tips for preparing for your outdoor newborn session.
- Choose a location close to home. Having a new baby at home can be tiring and stressful, so your photography session shouldn't be. Choosing a location close to home means less time in the car with your new baby.
- Make sure to feed your little one before leaving home and be prepared to feed again during your session. Your newborn session should be stress free for you and your little one. Anticipate a feeding during your session to keep him or her satisfied.
- Dress your little one for the location. Babies get cold easier than adults, so dress him/her warmly and bring extra blankets.
Neha and her husband had chosen The Garden at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek for their session. The location was only a few minutes from their home and the day was beautiful and warm. This is their first baby and it was so incredible to see the bond between them.
The grandparents were visiting from India and it was so special to be able to include them in the session with their new grandson.
