Lighted signs grab attention better than most other types of signs, making them a wise investment for any business. Let’s look at what you need to know about lighted signs.

What Types of Signs Are Typically Lighted?

Lighted signs use various types of lighting elements to illuminate the signs. Depending on the type of sign, sign shops vary the lighting element to garner the desired effect.

A few types of lighted signs include:

  • Channel letter signs are three-dimensional letters mounted to a raceway or sign panel. They are often used for storefronts.
  • Pylon signs are freestanding signs typically with multiple businesses listed. They are commonly seen at shopping centers and gas stations.
  • Monument signs are large signs which sit flush with the ground. They are seen in office parks, schools, and churches.
  • Lightbox signs are translucent panels with a lighting element behind them. They are seen on the exteriors of many businesses.

How Do Lighted Signs Increase Sales?

  • Increase brand awareness by making businesses more visible to potential customers.
  • Attract attention to businesses from a distance.
  • Create a sense of urgency, prompting customers to come in and take advantage of a sale or special offer.
  • Increase foot traffic by making the business more visible and inviting to customers.
  • Display a sense of professionalism and credibility, making customers more likely to do business.

All types of businesses benefit from lighted signs. They are exceptionally beneficial for companies who are open at night, have a high volume of foot traffic, or are located in competitive markets. This helps add more attention-grabbing power for these businesses.

Some examples of businesses who would benefit from lighted signs include:
