I have worked with business owners for more than 2 decades, collaboratively documenting their systems and putting other elements of their business infrastructure in place as well as helping them solve their day-to-day business frustrations. My clients typically work with me for a number of years since there is much to be done to ensure the fulfillment of their business vision.
When my clients begin working with me, they often are focused on what is happening day-to-day, without giving much thought to their big picture strategy going forward. They are more or less in a “firefighting” mode, handling whatever frustrations arise in the moment. This type of approach often requires the owner of the business to be there to handle all the frustrations that arise and their impact on customers, vendors and investors.
This reactive way of operating puts the business off balance and is not a position of strength. There is a more proactive way to operate a business that results in seamless day-to-day operations in accordance with the company’s long term goals.

Strategic thinking simply means that you have your end game in mind from the start, with a clear plan how to get there instead of just handling what comes your way day-to-day.

Putting these missing pieces in place ensures consistent results and a positive customer experience. Without them, you are depending on your employees to deliver results without the guidance needed to ensure a sustainable business model.
