With so much food around us during the holidays, the bad habits of eating unhealthy tends to rub off on our little ones. As the parent and surroundings people diets change with all these ways of eating, children also adapt to that change and tend to follow the same paths that their parents due. During these times make sure to maintain good eating habits at home. Also,make sure to have a healthy balance of activity and food for the both of you, so you guys can both share a happy and healthy lifestyle! Here are some more tips on how to stay healthy;
Be a good role model - as said, children tend to mimic their parents actions.
Be positive - forcing children to eat or do things will only make them want to do the opposite. Try and find a happy medium.
Get the whole family doing involved - set times for the entire family to get out and moving. Your child will enjoy it even more when the whole family attends and participates.
Be realistic - decide as a family proper goals and limits for everyone to dedicate themselves to meet.
Limit technology - set times for the use of video games, computers, TV, phones,etc.
Think about them - when planning weekly meals and activities, try and pick something that make everyone happy.
Pick good rewards - instead of using rewards to push them back into the bad habits, like more time on the internet, choose something beneficial.
Make time for family - put aside a designated time to spend with family whether its a movie night or a bowling night.
