Acknowledging employees for a job well done is essential for their morale and a great way to challenge others to work hard. Recognizing the importance of safety is also a huge incentive for many companies. Occidental Chemical Corporation, aka OxyChem or Oxy, has a large safety program and was looking for a way to identify their sites that were achieving their safety milestones. They needed a sign that could easily be updated and changed but looked professional enough to be showcased in their conference room. They found Visual Dynamics Sign and Image Solutions online and reached out to us to see what kind of identification sign we could come up with.

With 28 divisions spread out over 2 countries and 3 separate safety levels to be represented they weren’t sure of exactly what their identification sign vision was, but they did know that it should not have sliding name plates and that it needed to be polish and professional. We had recently learned of a new printable vinyl sign material that was magnetic receptive. This meant that we could design and produce a multi level sign that would allow us to print pieces that could be used on a magnetic receptive board. We were able to use their ideas to create a sample of what their identification signs would look like and they loved it. The vision of the project was they would have three magnet receptive identification signs; one for each safety level. On these boards we recreated the safety flags they have for each safety division. This provided a great depth and custom look to the identification signs. The final assembled identification signs were composed of a silver ACM that was mounted directly to the wall. To the ACM boards we attached the magnetic boards with standoffs. On these boards we placed the printed magnetic receptive vinyl with the flags. We also printed off the name for each division on the same material. To complete the entire look for this project we created dimensional letters to be mounted above the identification signs in the conference room. Once all the pieces were ready, we set up a date to install the finished project. The results are amazing and Oxy loves it. Now every month the 28 divisions can see and celebrate their safety success.
Each of the 28 division names can be secured to each board. We can also reprint the ombre flags as they are also print magnetic receptive vinyl.
