They had an amazing picture for their wall mural. It was a woman running along the beach elevated mid stride. We loved it too but told them we wanted to see the space and get detailed measurements. We also explained that as it was a new space with freshly painted wall, we would need to do a vinyl test to make sure that we printed the image on the best material for their wall. There are many types of wall vinyl out there. Some have very aggressive adhesives and some that are not. Using a wall vinyl with too aggressive of an adhesive could damage a wall when it comes time for the wall vinyl to be removed. Using a wall vinyl with too mild of an adhesive would result in the wall mural or decal falling off the wall. The freshness of the paint and the type of paint used is also a factor in the success of the wall mural. Fresh paint needs about 2 weeks to cure and off gas to maximize the adhesion of the wall mural. Paints that repel stains also repel wall vinyl. For these reasons, we like to conduct a vinyl test. We bring various types of wall vinyl and test them directly where the wall mural will be installed. Once we were able to determine which vinyl would work best for the wall mural, we took all the necessary measurements and made sure we would have enough space to bring in our equipment and work. Meanwhile, our design team was working on the image they provided, with the measurements in hand they discovered that the image of the woman would be cut out to accommodate the door space they had. They had to rework the whole image so that not only would the woman be placed in a good location, but they also had to add the customer’s requested text of “Do Pilates. Do Life” in a place that would also look good.

Here is the completed wall mural.
On installation day, we arrived after the last class of the day was completed as we did not want to disrupt their schedule. Each panel of the 14’ tall by 20’ wide wall mural went up without issue while working around the five ceiling supports, emergency exit sign and duct work. The results are amazing and the mirrors on the side walls help the wall mural look even bigger. Now all the members and staff of Club Pilates in Addison can be inspired and motivated by this lovely and powerful wall mural.
