We a recent call from the owners of the Steven’s Excavating let us know that they were adding a dump truck to their fleet. The truck would require the Stevens Excavating lettering and graphic as we’ve done on their trucks and vehicles. This will add yet another moving advertising tool to their business model. Our job is to adjust the colors of the lettering to provide a good contrast against the truck body color. We want to make sure the results are eye-catching and easily read.
Surveying the truck we took measurements and pictures to provide the client with some proofs with options for the truck color scheme. It only took a couple of iterations to settle on a final color scheme for the vehicle graphics. The picture below shows the finished design on the truck.

With the design in hand the next step was to print the graphics. In this case, the client let us know that they were planning to paint the truck cab in the coming year and so the decision was made to use a intermediate (calendared) vinyl. The printed graphic was laminated and then cut using a Graphtec F8000 cutter. With the lettering complete we turned our attention to the truck doors. We had some old graphics to remove before we could install the new ones. An adhesive remover and plastic razor made quick work of the old graphic. The new graphics and DOT numbers were positioned on the doors and installed. The finished product was exactly what the customer we looking for.
