The Farmington High School Business Administrator contacted us after searching the web for a sign company to help him come up with a solution to better identify the student and visitor entrances for the school. The administrator’s original thought was to string banners across the windows however after doing a site visit we recommended going with vinyl window lettering. This approach would offer a more cost effective, longer-term solution than the banners. In addition, the installation would not require us holes to be drilled into the building, which the administrator preferred.
From our discussions with the client we determined there we two entrances that needed to be better identified. One was the “student entrance” and the other “visitor/main office. In addition to the lettering the client asked to include the school logo, as well. Another consideration was the location of the lettering. We had to make sure it was high enough on the window so that it would not be easily tampered with. The pictures below show the finish product.
The Farmington High School has a goal to ensure their graduates acquire an understanding of the essential knowledge and skills in fundamental academic disciplines. They strive to help them develop the thinking and learning skills necessary to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Once we had a client approved design layout we began cut the custom lettering from white 3M premium vinyl. The logo, on the other hand had to be printed, laminated and then cut in order to match the school color. With the vinyl in hand we travelled to the site and installed it on each of the appropriate entrances. One minor challenge with the layout of the graphics was the window supports and seams. We needed to make sure we accounted for these to make sure the gaps in the lettering remained readable. With some minor adjustments we the layout we were able to accomplish this.
Window lettering and window graphics are a definitely something to explore when you are looking to present a short or long term message or advertise to your customers.
