We were contacted by Shipman’s Fire Equipment, Waterford, CT wanting to put vehicle graphics on a new box truck for their Scott Mobile Service Unit. They wanted it to match the current box truck they were using to provide this service. A site survey was needed to capture the current layout and sizes for the graphics on the existing truck. With the measurements and some pictures in hand we were able to recreate the artwork and provide them with a proof and estimate for lettering the truck.
In the picture above you see the finished truck. The result is an effective way t o advertise the mobile repair service for Scott Breathing Apparatus.

With approved artwork and layout we moved forward with the production of the cut vinyl. To provide greater durability we recommended the use of high performance cut vinyl. Additionally, to help increase the truck’s visibility, especially at night, the decision was made to produce the red and white lettering from reflective vinyl as seen in the photo to the right. Full scale cut files were sent to the Graphtec vinyl cutting plotter. Once the vinyl the unwanted vinyl is weeded out and transfer tape is then applied. Now it’s time to position and install them on the vehicle. In addition to the sides, lettering was also applied to the rear doors of the truck, as shown in the photo below.
One small challenge we ran into was an external electrical outlet on one side of the truck but not the other, which meant the black lettering for “Scott Mobile Service Unit” had to be smaller on this side of the vehicle. This was not difficult to accomplish just not anticipated. And difference is not significant enough to be noticeable to people looking at the truck.
