We always appreciate it when clients come back to us for new projects they envisioned. A case in point is Diana’s Mexican Food Products at 16330 Pioneer Boulevard. Previously, we had done some work for the client’s different restaurants. This time, they invited us to the main office, which needed new translucent pylon sign faces in Norwalk, CA. Check out the before and after pictures!
Baked by the Sun Versus Colorful and Bold
The main office combines a factory for Mexican food products they sell in retail stores with a restaurant. A pylon sign alerts drivers and passersby to the company’s presence. However, the pylon sign’s panels had been in place for a long time, and the intense Southern California sun had baked them.
Our shop redesigned the new panels to feature the business’ updated look. Next, we printed them on translucent vinyl using our new HP700w printer using a so-called sandwich print. This process works because the printer puts down a layer of the colored print, then adds a layer of white color and follows it up with another layer of color.
The three-layer print makes the color look correct during the day without appearing overly rich and bold. Concurrently, it does not give the impression of looking washed out when the pylon’s lights come on after dark. The result is a set of custom translucent sign faces for backlit signs with brand-centric displays around the clock.
Work with Superior Signs and Graphics on Backlit Sign Faces That Do Not Have a Washed Out Look
Did you know that most sign companies cannot offer this three-layer print product? This is because most sign shops have not invested in a $100k flatbed printer with the “sandwich” print capability. Our HP unit is unique because it has white ink that does not run yellow over time in the sun. Moreover, it allows for three layers of ink to be printed at a time. This technology is a game changer in sign-making and opens the door to many new manufacturing techniques that benefit clients.
Sign Refacing Saves Money
Do you know that we specialize in sign refacing? Pylons, monument signs, and lightbox cabinets are ideal candidates for this treatment. Because these signs combine framing technology with separate facing mounts, it is possible to separate the elements and update one or both. For most signage refurbishing projects, we paint the frame, repair minor nicks and scratches, and manufacture new facings.
The upgrades have dramatic display effects. If your company could benefit from new translucent pylon sign faces in Norwalk, CA, or anywhere else in Los Angeles or Orange counties, we will gladly assist you with this project. Connect with our shop today to request a quote!
