Glownar Aesthetics is a multi-state business that sells a variety of spa devices, such as LED light therapy and hydrodermabrasion equipment. Its newest showroom is located on La Cienega Boulevard. Without a building sign, the client chose perforated window graphics to draw attention to its retail storefront. Our technicians used 70/30 perforated vinyl, sealed with an optically clear laminate to protect the graphics from UV rays. Now, the storefront windows showcase various pieces of spa equipment, with lettering outlining their applications.
Which is Better: 70/30 or 50/50 Perforated Vinyl for Window Graphics?
For this project, we used 70/30 perforated vinyl, meaning 70% of the vinyl is available for printing, and 30% is open area. It allows for rich, vibrant colors and graphics. If you choose to incorporate high-resolution photos with detailed designs, 70/30 vinyl is the best option. While it slightly reduces visibility from inside the storefront, it makes the windows stand out more.
Of course, 50/50 perforated vinyl also has uses. For perforated graphics installed on car windows, 50/50 perforation is a must because it opens up more area for visibility. That said, it also works for storefronts, though the graphics may not look as vibrant from a distance.
Why Do We Use Optically Clear Laminate for Perforated Window Graphics?
We already mentioned that our laminate is UV-resistant, which reduces fading from sunlight exposure. Your graphics’ vibrant colors stay great-looking longer. Of course, there are additional reasons why a clear laminate is an excellent add-on to perforated vinyl.
For example, did you know it makes the windows easier to clean? Without the laminate, dust gets caught in the perforations, which mars the graphics and makes it harder to see out. Also, without an optically clear laminate, fingerprints, scuffs, and wear from routine cleaning can damage your graphics.
