SYNOPSIS:

Have you ever run low on car coolant? Here are five signs of low coolant in your car.

A coolant is a chemical used to minimize the spiking temperature of your car’s engine. Furthermore, it minimizes the fuel economy, power consumption, and increases the lifespan of your car’s components. However, sometimes the coolant within the cooling system fails to perform its due task. When that happens, make sure to get the fuel level checked, for it could allude to low coolant.

Here are a few signs your car is low on coolant.

Fluctuating Temperature Gauze

When the temperature is normal, the needle of the temperature system remains at a specific place. However, sometimes the needle moves back and forth too often. This is a sign that there is something wrong with the cooling system or the coolant. The needle tends to behave abnormally when the coolant radiator leaves are blocked. Therefore, it is better to watch the gauze meter as you drive. This will help you figure out whether or not your car is low on coolant.

Heater Unresponsiveness

Another sign of low coolant in your car is an unresponsive heater. The slightest problem with the coolant directly affects the way your car heater should function. The coolant tends to pass through the core of the heater using valves. If the coolant has started leaking or blockage has taken place, the heater will not perform the way it should.

Coolant Leakage

Coolant leakage can take place internally, as well as externally. Before you start your car, make sure to check for any green, orange or pink leakage. Such colors on the road are a sign that your coolant has started to leak, and needs to be checked. DIY tips are good, but it is better to take your car to a mechanical professional, like the ones working at our company. Remember; leaked fluid can be poisonous, so make sure to wipe it off, before somebody comes in contact with it.

Weird Odors

Have you ever smelled something sweet inside or around your car? Such stenches are not a pretty sign and allude to a coolant leakage, which cannot be underestimated. If you smell sweet odors inside your car, make sure to get the area under the hood checked. You can even expect a film, inside the windshield of your car, for it is one of the most common areas where coolant leakage takes place.

Thermometer Light

The thermometer near the dashboard tells the exact temperature of the engine. If the light of the thermometer starts to fluctuate, it is a sign that the temperature has risen. One of the main reasons behind increased temperature is a lack of coolant.

If you are going on a long road trip, use the aforementioned signs to maintain the level of coolant in your car.
