As an owner/operator of a sign company, I spend a lot of time driving around visiting clients. And as I drive around Toronto and surrounding areas I am always noticing signs - interesting signs, modern signs, creative signs, but, more often than not, signs in need of repair. Signs should be manufactured and installed to withstand the elements and should not require servicing for at least 4 to 5 years. But more often than not, that is not the case. LED modules fail.
Acrylic can warp or become discoloured. And polycarbonate sign faces are even more susceptible than acrylic to UV discolouration. When I first got into the sign business part of my marketing plan was to simply drive around and approach businesses with failing signs. I'd offer to fix the sign and would give them a price on the spot. Business owners would often take me up on this as they were usually too busy to find a sign company to fix themselves...or were getting nowhere with the sign company who originally installed the sign.

Power surges, seasonal temperature fluctuations or extreme weather situations, vandalism, UV colour fading, vehicle impacts, or merely old age are the main causes of sign damage. This can be exasperated if the sign was not constructed with quality materials.
A damaged sign certainly can give customers or potential customers the wrong impression about a business. Certainly, a damaged sign will not result in positive first impressions for your business that can impact your bottom line.

Fix a sign can result in a new design with additional improvements that result in an overall more effective sign. These improvements may include replacing fluorescent lighting with new LED lighting (thereby reducing electrical consumption and costs) and/or replacing an older sign face with a new updated design that better represents your business.
