Toner cartridges are not cheap. When you buy a color laser printer, you become responsible for buying not just one but four toner cartridges. Unless you really must have color, you can save a lot of money by living in a monochrome world. 3) Buy compatible, recycled, or refurbished toner. This is, hands down, your best cost-saving measure. Compatible or recycled toner cartridges can cost as little as half as much as OEM (original equipment manufacturer) toner cartridges.
