Overview of a Frosted Window Sign Project

An Edward Jones branch in Manchester, CT, recently remodeled its lobby area and was looking for a way to finish off the décor with branded windows. So, they contacted our G-Force Signs & Graphics team to discuss their options.

Project Overview

To complete a redo of the lobby area, Edward Jones wanted to address some of the issues they had with the previous lobby design:

  • The business needed to add privacy to the lobby as multiple windows and doors surround the lobby.
  • They needed to block out some of the sunlight, which created a glare and often blinded the clients and employees in the lobby.
  • The solution needed to retain the upscale look the businesses have while fixing these issues.

We suggested frosted and branded windows as the finishing touch for this remodel, as they will address all the issues. In addition, doing this will help open the lobby while still serving its purpose regarding privacy.

Frosted Window Design

Edward Jones opted to incorporate a simple but elegant design that allows for adequate coverage without covering the entire window. This included film covering the middle portion of the windows with a couple of feet at the bottom and top left clear. The center frosted rectangle design has horizontal and vertical lines for a sophisticated look. In addition, each of the doors has the “Edward Jones” logo, and contact information is displayed at eye level.

How Frosted Windows are Made

Frosted windows are installed by applying a frosted window film to the glass surface. The process typically involves cleaning the glass, measuring, and cutting the film or vinyl to size, applying the film or vinyl to the glass, smoothing out any bubbles, and trimming the excess.

Benefits of Frosted Windows for Businesses

Now that you have seen how Edward Jones used the frosted glass design to their advantage, here is an overview of all the benefits of frosted windows:

  • Privacy: Frosted glass provides privacy for offices and conference rooms.
  • Design: Adds a decorative touch and enhances the overall design aesthetic.
  • Light control: Softens and diffuses light, reducing glare and creating a more comfortable work environment.
  • UV protection: Protects employees, clients, and furnishings from harmful UV rays.
  • Branding: Provides an opportunity for businesses to display their logo or branding message.
  • Cost-effective: An affordable alternative to traditional etched or stained glass.
  • Easy to install: Compared to etching, frosted window films can be installed quickly and easily, making it a great option for businesses with tight budgets and timelines.
