Window tint warranties cover a variety of things. Scratching, however, is not one of them. If you really think about it…there’s absolutely no way that window film can scratch itself, unless it had hands of course.

There are two key things to be aware of when it comes to avoiding this mishap. The first is something that happens in your car. Pay attention the next time you take off your seatbelt while leaving your vehicle. Chances are that you’re letting your seatbelt fly off your shoulder allowing it to potentially smack your window. Repeat instances of this collision will leave scratch marks or even a hole in your window film.
The other issue takes place in your home. The two cautions we advise here revolve around children and moving objects. I’m sure you know at least one person who drew on the walls as a child. Perhaps you were even that child. Either way, you never know when a child is going to pretend a tinted window is a nice climbing wall for their action figure. Also, when you get the urge to move things around in an effort to change up the aesthetics of a room, don’t forget that you have window tint and be cautious while moving objects nearby.
