Roadside assistance can be a lifesaver if you need a tow or get locked out of your car.  Many people have Roadside Assistance plans that offer discounts to theme parks and other types of entertainment venues.  These are great perks, but lately, none of us are going to theme parks or movies due to the pandemic and shelter in place protocols.  If you have felt the need to drop that Roadside/Entertainment plan but are concerned about assistance, this may help!

Did you know?  Many Auto Insurance Companies offer Roadside Assistance as a rider to your Car Insurance policy.  Yes they do and the cost is very reasonable!  Some examples of Roadside Assistance are towing, flat tire service, battery service, fuel and fluids (yep – if you run out of gas, they will bring some), and the total unwelcome – lockout!  These are annoying issues that become a lot less troubling when you have a number to call and an agent to help you.

Car Insurance Roadside assistance costs just a few dollars per month per vehicle.  What’s also nice is that they are available 24 hours a day, so when that flat tire or lockout comes at an inconvenient time, call the toll free number and someone will answer!  Just before the lockdown, my friend returned from a business trip and had been on planes and airports all day.  When she got to her car to drive home, it would not start.  The airport parking lot had a special jumper, but the car would still not start!  AnnoyING! to say the least.  So, she called the Roadside Assistance number of her Car insurance company, and within about 30 minutes, the tow truck arrived and towed her vehicle to a repair shop near her home.  A lifesaver at 1:30am!
