The place to have and extravagant night in Barcelona is The Sky Bar at Grand Hotel Central. You can see almost all of Barcelona from the Sky Bar at the Grand Hotel Central Barcelona. The roof terrace has a lovely rooftop pool, lounge chairs, sofas, tables, etc., making it one of Barcelona’s finest rooftop bars. Guests staying at the hotel have exclusive access to the Grand Hotel Central’s rooftop swimming pool and bar during the day (in summer). Although the rooftop swimming pool is always special, the non-guests are welcome to enjoy the trendy atmosphere, fresh Spanish cuisine and great cocktails after 19800 when the rooftop bar is open for all to try (for € 16, including a drink for free). Quite common, reservations are highly recommended for dining visits.
In winter you can also enjoy the Vermut Con Vistas with tapas and live music, usually open to the public during the daytime on weekends (12 noon to 6 pm). Nonetheless, the best thing about Sky Bar at Grand Hotel Central is the breathtaking infinity rooftop pool, one of the finest in Europe and by far the best rooftop swimming pool in Barcelona. As for the view, even though around Vermouth-hour the sunbeds are replaced with dining tables, the infinity pool in the room looks equally fine and elegant in winter. As the rooftop pool was heated, there were a few guests at the hotel, just like last year, who were swimming.
You can end up in front of the line, where you can look out over Barcelona hours, for ultimate views. Most of them sat in the lounge area, which is understandable as heaters are available. This is the only downside to the Sky Bar, otherwise the warm sun doesn’t hit the terrace in the winter afternoons. Although the views are very cool, with shades contrasting with the sunlight of the region, it also means that sometimes it might not be hot. If not, you can also borrow blankets.
Sky Bar is a must-visit if you are in Barcelona over a winter weekend! While it is recommended that you stay full at Grand Hotel Central, for fantastic cocktails and great views, you must spend at least a few hours on the terrace. Just remember to wear something cold.
