Cognizant, a Fortune 500 company, is a global leader in business and technology services. They are ranked among the top performing and fastest growing companies in the world. They have a regional office in Phoenix, Arizona. The facility is state of the art and is full of architectural features. In the philosophy of continuous improvement, they have taken on projects to upgrade the work environment for their Phoenix employee team and visiting clients.
One recent project was the transformation of a wall in a large, open office area. The wall had a number of sizeable pieces of art, but the art had little to do with promoting the company’s emphasis to “Keep Challenging” .
The decision was made to add a large format mural depicting energized employees and clients in a collage of photographs of different sizes and levels of focus. The goal was to dramatically fill the space with emphasis on company products and offerings. The design included the graphic look and feel from the corporate website. The size was thirty feet wide by nine feet tall.
Designs Phoenix was hired to produce and install the mural using company supplied artwork. We worked on the file in Adobe Photoshop, creating a series of eight 48-inch wide by 9-foot tall panels. We used an inch of overlap between the panels to allow for exact placement of the detailed graphics. The panels were prepared using Onyx RIP software and printed on HP PVC-free wall paper using our HP Designjet 25500 printer. We had relatively short lead-time and we set up the printer to run over night. The printing was completed without any problems and came out in spectacular detail.
Installation took a little over two hours and the wall and office area was transformed. Here are pictures of the project, including the wall prior to the installation as well as in process photos.
