Some of the most effective advertising available is that applied to vehicles. Think of all the miles you drive each day and all the people you contact during that time. Many of those people are in need of your exact offering and if your vehicle has no mention of your product, there is no connection possible. If you have your message and contact information clearly visible, you have a chance. As I often say, I can’t guarantee that you will get added business from vehicle graphics, but I can guarantee that if you don’t have graphics, you won’t.
One of the more visible areas on a passenger vehicle is the windows, particularly the back window. There is a vinyl material specifically developed for car windows that has tiny circular holes distributed throughout. This material, called window perf, is designed to show printed graphics and message to those looking from outside, and to look like a window screen to those looking out from inside. If you have a squared off rear window on your vehicle as with an SUV or van, visibility out the window is excellent. However, if you have a slanted back window such as on a passenger car, visibility can be an issue.
The problem is the change in the hole openings as the slope angle increases. To demonstrate, here is a circle in vertical orientation: If you slope that circle at 45 degrees from vertical, the circle looks like this:
Most rear windows on today’s cars are sloped at 50 degrees or more. Here is the circle at 60 degrees:
As you can see, visibility decreases dramatically with the slope of the window.
So what can you do if you do have a sedan? One option is to use windows other than the back. Ethan Pickner is a successful agent with US Health Advisors. His company provides affordable health insurance policies for small businesses, families, and individuals. Ethan drives a late-model BMW 3- series and he wanted to add a message. He contacted Designs Phoenix with an idea to use the back seat windows on each side rather than the back.
We worked with Ethan to create an effective message in a limited space that tied in with the car’s color and design. The results are shown below.
Ethan now can use his drive time to promote his product while maintaining optimal visibility. Designs Phoenix prides itself on innovative and creative marketing solutions. Contact Designs Phoenix today to see what we can do to promote your business!
