Project: Water Damage Repair & Mold Remediation Customer: Steve W. Location: Southampton, PA Recently, we received a call from a homeowner in Southampton, PA, who had extensive water damage and a flooded basement caused by a recent storm surge, and they needed help with water removal and repairs.  The homeowners were away on vacation when the storm came in, so the problem went unnoticed until they returned home. As it turned out, the massive rainstorm caused the gutters to clog up and overspill, funneling the water into the basement. By the time that we arrived, about a week after the storm had passed, most of the water had evaporated.  But the carpet and base trim were still wet, so our technicians quickly removed the water damaged carpet, padding, base trim, insulation and 24 inches of drywall around the perimeter of the basement. You can see an example, in the images above, of the 2 feet of drywall that we removed from the floor up. We dried the rest of the floor, exposed studs and sheet rock that was not covered in mold. Over the next copy of days we began to rebuild the damaged basement by installing new mold resistant sheet rock, and then priming and painting the walls. Once the water damaged materials were removed, we cleaned the gutters and installed a plastic window cover over the exposed basement window well to prevent additional damage from the next storm, which was heading their way in a few days. We began rebuilding the basement with new materials and completed the job in under 3 days.
