Recently, we received a call from a residential rental property company who was prepping a unit to be rented out in 10 days. The problem? A hot water tank located in the basement of the unit had sprung a leak. Our client alerted us that the hot water tank was leaking, and had been for some time, because some mold had accumulated as well. The rental agreement had already been signed and the tenant was planning on moving in towards the middle of the month. So we need to get this job done ASAP! When our technicians arrived at the unit they confirmed that this project would be fairly straightforward. They extracted all of the standing water and removed all of the potentially hazardous mold. In order to remove all the mold it was necessary to remove the carpet, the sheet rock, and anything else that had been damaged. Then we brought in our dehumidifiers and dried out everything completely that did not need to be removed. For the restoration part of the process, we installed new mold resistant sheet rock, primed and painted the walls, installed a brand new carpet, and called in one of our partners, a plumbing company, to replace the hot water tank and make sure that all of the fittings were connected and would not leak in the future. Overall, the project took four days to complete and was well within the time frame for the new tenants to move in on time. Our property management client was very happy with our work and ability to get the project done in a limited time frame.
