Known for superior customer service, Old Republic Title Insurance Group first started in Minnesota back in 1907. The company handles insurance policies and real estate transaction and mortgage lending services to consumers, lenders, businesses, and government agencies alike. With such rapid growth, it was time for the company to open a new location in Tomball, TX.
When the company chose its new location, the search began for a sign company to partner with that shared its values in quality and customer service. Old Republic Title was referred to Monarch Sign & Graphics by RE/MAX Elite Properties due to their shared values and Monarch’s long-standing reputation for detailed work in the Tomball area. The project had a few phases, including:
- Custom ADA Signs
- Building Sign
- Custom Lobby/Reception Sign
- Tenant Panels on Pylon
- Exterior Window Graphics
The design for the lobby sign was based on creating a high contrast between the elements. This was achieved by using a high gloss finish and laser cutting the letter and logo elements out of black acrylic. When cutting acrylic with a laser, a polished edge will mimic the gloss finish of the front of the acrylic letters. The result seems fine-tuned and has a more modern feel than other results. This helped stick to the modern appeal of Old Republic Title’s aesthetic.
Placement of the sign was the biggest battle. Finding the right spot on the natural rock tile with heavy applied texture was a project many companies would shy away from but that Monarch Sign & Graphics welcomed as a new challenge. The sign was hung with over 80 holes drilled in preparation. After the holes had been grilled by the expert craftsman, the team checked and found not a single tile had been damaged.
The letters were then loosely installed to allow more precise alignment of the pieces. During this stage of the process, the protective layers for the acrylic letters were left on to ensure they were not damaged. Once everything was lined up and looked good, the letters were then set with adhesive in the stud holes, then the protective layers were removed from the letters.
At the end of the project, the client was happy to see her vision have come to life with the precision of Monarch Sign & Graphics’s professional team.
