Flat-Panel Lighting

Edge-Lit Flat-Panel Lighting

The lighting source of an edge-lit flat-panel light is found along the outside of the light. The light comes from the edges and is then dispersed into the center, creating an even light distribution with less shadow. Spaces that would benefit from less of a shadow, such as warehouses where improved visibility is necessary, would want to use edge-lit flat-panel lighting. The lights are covered with an aluminum panel and can be used as recess lighting, mounted lighting, or suspended lighting.

Back-Lit Flat-Panel Lighting

For this type of LED lighting, the light source is located in the back of the light. Light is then distributed across the panel into the rest of the space. They don’t have quite as sleek an appearance as edge-lit panel lighting, but they are the most budget-friendly. Fewer LED lights are required, and the initial investment is less.
