Recently, we received a call from a homeowner couple that were worried about the furnishings in their home. They have a lot of valuables that they wanted to protect from damage over time. They were familiar with how the sun’s harmful UV rays can damage interior furnishings in just a few years, and sometimes even just a few months.
In addition to wanting to protect their furnishings, the husband was also experiencing issues with excessive amounts of heat and glare entering his study. When he would sit at his desk the sun would hit his back and really make a few hours of the day very uncomfortable. So, as typically is the case, we needed to address multiple issues at once.
We ended up using two different window films. We used Huper Optik’s Select Sech window film and also the Ceramic 40 window film. In the living areas of the home we used the Select Sech film because we just needed to block out the UV rays and didn’t want to darken the room. But in the study, where there were extreme heat and glare issues, we wanted to use the ceramic film because it provides more heat and glare reduction. This is often the best approach to take, where we address each individual room and provide a window tinting solution that is best for that particular room.
Not long after, we received a call again from our homeowner clients because they were so happy with the results that they wanted us to come back and do other parts of the home.
