Nashville, TN – New residential building displays music history with elegant cus…

The biggest names in music were honored this week at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.  There were many reminders throughout the broadcast of the impact music has on the lives of people everywhere. Alicia Keys said it best, “Music is what we all love, music is what it’s all about. Music is what we cry to, it’s what we march to, it’s what we rock to. It’s our shared global language.” “Music City” aka Nashville Tennessee is no exception. Nashville is home to the iconic Grand Ole Opry and The Country Music Hall of Fame so music is a language that is spoken fluently here.

The Morris

Nashville will forever be the place where country music was born, and it’s important to the city to pay homage to the people that played a role in its gaining popularity. Music Row, a beloved historical district in Nashville, is the home of the Historic RCA Studio B, several radio stations, and record label offices. It is also the location of one of Nashville’s most luxurious residential buildings, The Morris. The Morris is located in the heart of Music Row and was designed in keeping with the city’s country music theme. The Morris stands in tribute of and is named after Dale Morris, a legendary manager in the country music industry. Mr. Morris is responsible for successfully managing artists such as Kenny Chesney, Alabama and Old Dominion. He made his mark on country music and now, through his story and memorabilia collection, the residents and guest of The Morris have the opportunity to experience his legacy and its significance to country music.

12-Point SignWorks has the reputation of “creating WOW” so we were called upon by LMC, the real estate development and operating company responsible for The Morris. We were asked to design, fabricate and install the wall signs which would highlight the photographs and memorabilia located throughout the building. We are also known for our quick response and turnaround time. Since this project was in a bit of a time crunch (open house in a little more than a week, yikes!), we were the perfect choice when it came to on-time execution.

LMC provided the verbiage and worked with our graphic designer to create the look and feel of the wall displays that would accompany the historic music memorabilia. Torrence, our in-house graphic designer, created the graphics and gave other recommendations on the appearance. Once completed, he submitted his idea. After the proofs were approved, the signs were ready to be printed and professionally installed by our team.

The proofs that were provided give an exact idea of how the displays will look.

The acrylic signs were printed on our large format flatbed printer on matte black acrylic and installed using 1-inch gold standoffs. Standoffs are the mounting pieces that give the sign a dimensional look because they allow it to “stand off” from the wall or other surface. The signage style provides a very classy appearance and was perfect for The Morris’ decor.

The signs were installed in the common areas throughout the building, including the main lobby, mailroom, leasing office and on various floors. They are displayed alongside Morris’ songwriting guitar, signed guitars from Alabama’s final tour, photographs of Morris, and a photograph of Kenny Chesney during one of his sold-out stadium tours.

Not only were we able to display our skills when it came to acrylic signs, but we were also asked to fancy up The Morris’ elevators a bit with some custom vinyl graphics! LMC provided high-resolution photographs of concert performances by the country music superstars, and they were printed on our HP Latex wide format printer using a second surface process. During the application, these graphics were printed on vinyl that was reversed and applied to the back (or second surface) side of the clear glass for viewing from the front. This type of installation allows the images to be protected from wear and fading, and it also provides a look that is superior to the usual application style.

A photograph of the country music band, Old Dominion creates a unique elevator riding experience.

Today, and for many years to come, the residents and visitors of The Morris are sure to appreciate Mr. Morris’ contributions to country music. To learn more about this unique residential building, visit https://livemorris.com/.
