Finding the right biomechanics specialist in your area.

The right person for an on-the-job ergonomics and biomechanics training would be someone who has a great deal of experience in observing the different ways people perform their job tasks. They should have a good understanding of what are the pain points involved in particular jobs. They should understand a high level overview of how much the body can handle, how to improve the mechanics or employ various administrative controls such as job rotation and microbreaks. They need to associate the job demands with customized training for relevance. Explain to staff how to use their body in a way to minimize ergonomic risk factors and prepare the body by stretching, warming up, and keeping healthy. Also mention habits such as getting enough sleep and staying hydrated. Biomechanics training classes are usually once per quarter for high demand jobs. These jobs can be janitorial work, kitchen staff, gardening, etc. involving high forces, awkward postures, etc. A lot of times the workforce will be stuck in the heat or cold which are also risk factors that can play into the holistic condition. The trainer needs to shadow the workers at the jobsite of the training. That way they can truly understand the issues that are present. A generic training does not jive well with folks because they feel like the trainer lacks credibility as they have no understanding of the issue, how can they understand how to really solve them. What is Biomechanics training? Not only is that important for the trainer, but also the communication abilities of the trainer is important too. A trainer should engage staff and allow for comments and questions during the session. This would help ensure that the trainer has become somewhat of a sounding board for the concerns of the employees and can communicate solutions to them that are practical and effective. The biomechanics trainer will then be able to apply the proper lessons towards how to use the best mechanics or tools, etc. that will help them work comfortably and safely. They trainer should convey empathy and sincerity when providing training which ensures that their audience is most pleased and understands that the trainer is there to help. This helps open eyes during the training and get people to participate and learn together as a team. If your business is looking for a great biomechanics and ergonomic consultant to provide your hard-working staff with group training, call Ergobility today and speak to an ergonomics and biomechanics consultant.
