We have discussed in several prior blogs on how effective vehicle graphics can be. The cost-per-impression is mind-blowing: one branded vehicle can gain between 30 and 80 THOUSAND views per day, depending upon the area and routes traveled. This type is advertising is very common among larger national corporations branding their message on tractor trailers and over the road box trucks. This give then great exposure while transporting their products across the nation.
This type of advertising is also very effective for local and regional businesses. Contractors and service companies utilize graphics for the advertising value as well as providing identification to their customers when they arrive that they are legitimate and belong to the company the customer expected to arrive. Neighbors also see these vehicles at service locations and may ask the client about the service they received and the value the company provided. A well done graphic projects an image of professionalism, helps identify the company brand and the products and/or services they provide.
Vehicle graphics are typically thought of as bold and colorful. While bold graphics are commonly used to make an impression, sometimes bold images and colors don’t match a companies aesthetic. Sometimes the boldest thing you can do is go against the norm!
Recently we were contacted by Battavio Plumbing-Heating and Cooling to revamp their vehicle graphic design. We have been fortunate to have worked with Battavio on their fleet for several years. It’s always a pleasure to work with quality folks that are customer oriented. They wanted to change their look to be more subdued, not so much in your face type of graphic. Our designers got to work and sat down with Joe Battavio to get a sense of the look he was trying to achieve. After several options presented to them we narrowed down the look they wanted.
We printed their graphic on 3M IJ180 high performance vinyl and used a gloss laminate to provide a painted look while protecting the print from UV light and scratching. We then contour cut the shapes and letters to add texture and dimension to the graphic. The end result was exactly what they were looking for. Somewhat understated with a clean and professional look.
