Whenever a new business opens a primary goal is to let the community know and get customers through their doors. Exterior signs work to let people know where you are and what you stand for. The perfect sign starts with the perfect design. When the property owner of a new business opening in Downingtown, PA contacted us with a rough concept of what the tenant was looking for we knew this would be a fun project for our design team. Being in the heart of Downingtown there were restrictions on color palettes allowed due to the historic status, this worked well for us because the Vintage store was hoping for a natural palette.
Vintage is a home decor company that carries a selection of antique and re-purposed decorating pieces that will surely add character and brighten any space you are trying to fit out.
As our team set to work on the sign panel we began with designing options for the property manager to approve. As is always true with our work, we aspire to bring the clients vision to life while also encompassing the heart of a company! We set to work creating a graphic that incorporated the look of weathered whitewashed wooden planks accompanied with a vintage inspired “steel” scroll. In keeping with the Vintage nature of the company we settled on timeless fonts, including referencing the font used by the borough.
With one sign cabinet on the property and two properties, the property manager opted into splitting a single panel with multiple graphics. In order to create separation we included the address as a middle band. When a new tenant moves in a graphic can be applied to the bottom half of the acrylic panel. The owners were pleased by our rendition and approved the proof.
We proceeded to produce the graphic with a digitally printed and laminated graphic on high performance translucent vinyl. We then mounted the graphic on a durable polycarbonate panel. The end result is a durable sign panel that will provide Vintage a visibly pleasing sign along the well traveled route 30 corridor through the borough of Downingtown.
