How much time and effort was invested to create your corporate identity? Did you pay someone to design your logo and create a “tag line”? When you decorated your office did you put as much time, effort and cost into creating this image in 3D for all of your clients to see?
Most likely the second or third time a potential customer sees your corporate logo is in your lobby or entryway (the first is your outdoor sign). This is your chance to 1) Impress your prospect with a visual they will not forget. 2) Help construct the prospect’s thought about your brand.
While working with an attorney client we came to the conclusion that his logo should be prominent and look professional. While we discussed the placement in his lobby we talked about what type of message it would send. If it conveyed a sense of cheapness his clients may interpret this poorly, perhaps thinking he was not a quality attorney. We also didn’t want it to look too “rich” either; he didn’t want people to think he was over charging them.
Together we created an acrylic sign depicting his logo and company name. It looks very professional and lends credibility to his firm. It’s a small item in his lobby but creates a large visual impression on his clients.
When it comes to your corporate presence it’s important to put in some significant time thinking about how to present your brand. Think carefully about what image you would like to portray. What would a bronze logo communicate versus an acrylic logo? Should you go over the top to really “wow” your customers?
