Remember when you opened your doors? Everything was so new, it sparkled!
As the years have gone by you may have repainted inside, replaced some carpeting and more.
One thing many business forget to update is their signage. Your signage, both indoor and outdoor, represent your brand. If your signage is tired looking or inoperable you could be hurting your sales and image more then you think.
Updating your signage can be a huge sales booster! Updating your outdoor signage can lead to an increase in sales from 7.7% to 15.6% annually, according to a University of San Diego study. If you would like to see more information regarding this study please take a look at the International Sign Association's website.
Signage should not be ignored. Many times it is the first time you can make an impression on your customer. It is important to keep your outdoor signage clean and maintained. A quick wash once a year is usually all that is required. You indoor signage should be maintained as well, usually only requiring a quick dusting.
If your lighted lettering outside has letters that are not lit, get them fixed. What impression does it give that a business doesn't care if customers sees their name in the wrong light. If the sign itself is too old or not repairable make every effort to replace it. Try something different this time around, make it a "new" look so customers who have passed it every day now notice it! You will be amazed at how many new customers come in and tell you that they have been going this way for years and never noticed your business.
If the signs inside of your business have faded due to time and UV exposure, replace them. Take this opportunity to create a newer and fresher image of your company. Window lettering and window vinyl do not last forever. Once you see the color fade dramatically or have letters that are cracked, replace them. They are a cheap and effective way of bringing attention to your business!
Buying new carpets and painting is a great way to keep your business from looking dated. Updating your signage is a proven way to increase your sales! Where do you want to invest your hard earned dollars?
