While no two jobs are alike, most of them share all or most of the following steps as we work to restore the boat to its original glory.

Stripping the boat involves the manual work of removing years of grime, lacquer, paint and other materials. Getting the boat to this natural state is the first step and gives us a starting point for the restoration.
From there, we examine the boat for missing pieces, weak points or other areas which need woodworking expertise. We replace or repair these areas using similar wood to what the boat is made of and take great care to ensure a perfect match after shaping, sanding and fitting the new pieces in with the old.
When we have a solid and water-tight base, it’s time to reapply a uniform layer of lacquer, paint and/or other protective materials to restore the shine of the boat. While this step might seem simple, the difference between professional and amateur finishing is night and day.
