Like so many other local warehouses, Amazon’s POC1 facility is large. This week, our team was tasked with designing, producing, and installing wayfinding wall graphics in Fontana, CA. These signs would identify the auxiliary bathrooms and be augmented by wall graphics that underscore the company’s brand.
Location Identifiers in Large Warehouses Make Wayfinding Quick and Easy
Our technicians added wayfinding stripe graphics to the exterior of seven satellite restrooms on the edges of the 750 K-square-foot warehouse. Given that this facility has almost all new employees, it was critical to consider the wayfinding challenges and their solutions.
We collaborated with the site manager, who requested large stripes with 28-inch-tall lettering spelling out “Restroom” to be seen from anywhere in the facility. Concurrently, we added side wall wraps with the company’s Affinity Group logos and images, celebrating the diverse employee population. The finished products added to the functionality of signage at this location.
Warehouse Wayfinding Signage Options Can be Fully Customized
Each facility has unique needs when it comes to directional signage.
- Hanging signs. Suspended from the warehouse ceiling, lightweight but sturdy aluminum composite panels are excellent for featuring information on a double-sided medium. Label departments and locations with them, or incorporate arrows to help visitors and employees find their way around.
- Shipping and receiving signs. These signage solutions are ideal for the outside. We recommend shipping and receiving panels that display the company’s name, address, and logo. Add elements of your corporate color palette to make these details more visible from the street.
- Floor graphics. Combine hanging signs and other wayfinding products with floor graphics. They assist with directions in specific warehouse zones. Besides that, consider these graphics for communicating safety messages.
