Guidestone Church invited our team to return for another project. After putting together an aluminum monument sign and custom conference room signs for the congregation, the church now requested one of our building signs for churches in Los Angeles for its new Hermosa Beach property.
Custom Building Signs in Los Angeles Communicate Brand Messages to Passersby
After buying a new property in Hermosa Beach, the client remembered the custom signage we did for its other location and asked us to return. For this project, we took on the building sign. After discussing the different options with the client, they decided that reverse halo letters would be the ideal way of expressing its brand.
These light up by projecting the illumination from the letters’ backs. It then reflects off the wall and creates a halo effect. It is interesting to note that the client requested a combination of front and halo illumination for the logo. This setup creates an attractive visual counterpoint that looks fantastic when illuminated.
Channel Letters, Lightbox Cabinets, or 3D Building Letters? Which Signage Solution is Right for Your Location?
Our client opted for halo-lit channel letters. The reverse-lit display is elegant and certainly catches the attention of anyone walking past. The other option is the channel letter display, where the light projects through the fronts. It is an excellent choice for a business that has a unique color palette and wants to underscore it with lighting.
Of course, channel letters are only one option. The logo display our client requested could be considered a lightbox cabinet. These cabinets can be made into signage on their own. Our technicians can shape the cabinets to suit your taste. Most clients request a rectangle. It creates a box that we close with an imprinted polycarbonate facing. This facing features your company’s name, logo, and any tagline or other text you want to include.
When illumination is of secondary importance, you cannot go wrong with three-dimensional building letters. These have the advantage of opening the door to a broad range of material choices. For example, we can craft these letters using outdoor-rated sign foam, various metals, acrylic, or vinyl. Go as large as you want; due to the material choices you have, we can control the weight so that the letters themselves will never be too heavy to safely anchor them to your building’s facade.
