Orange Lutheran High School had another project for our team: a donor recognition wall in Orange County, CA. Did you know that our team has a lot of experience putting together custom donor wall signs?
Case Study: OLU
As you may remember, Orange Lutheran High School is a returning client. Over the years, we have designed, produced, and installed anything from wall murals to 3D wall lettering and pole banners. Donor wall exhibits and signs for non-profits, such as schools, are a common practice. They strengthen the ties between the organization and its supporters while encouraging would-be partners to step forward.
Because OLU has many long-established supporters, our team broke up the list into two sections placed on facing walls. For this particular product, the client specified something other than vinyl letters. OLU installed marble slab walls in the entrance lobby to create a high-end backdrop for donor wall signs and displays.
Initially, the plan was to have the donors’ names sand-blasted into the marble, but taking this step would have been messy. Moreover, it would have been impossible to make any changes to the layout in the future. We recommended another option that is just as high-end but with much more customization possible now and in the future: Rowmark engravable ADA material.
A Closer Look at Rowmark and the Lettering Installation Process
Rowmark is our go-to supplier of laser and rotary engraving materials. Our technicians used half-inch-thick black acrylic with brushed metal faces for the titles at the top of each wall. At the donor name level, we continued with one-eighth-thick material. Finally, we laser-cut donor names using Rowmark engravable ADA material.
Look closely, and you will notice that it is one-sixteenth of an inch thick and has black sides with a faux metal face. Most importantly, we positioned the donor recognition setup to look complete but allow for adding more names. Our technicians did an excellent job installing the donor wall elements. Once we finished, the space looked elegant, honored donors, and perfectly fit the setting’s overall ambiance.
